Journal #135

Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day, etc… Today is the perfect temperature for just about doing anything or nothing. Spring is in the air. I only wish we could have temperatures like this all summer long. So much for fantasizing and desiring things I can never have. I finished reading Deborah Harkness’s book, “A Discovery of Witches” last night, and it is truly brilliantly written. From the way she left the story hanging, it is clear that she intends to write at least one more book on this subject. I personally hope that she is planning to make a series out of it. Oh well, I suppose only time will tell, as my grandmother was fond of saying. I am now reading “The Christmas Pearl,” by Dorothea Benton Frank.” My feelings for this author are that of jealousy and awe… She writes as I can only dream of writing at this point in my life. I have decided to read as many of her books as I can find at the library or buy, and then I will try to immolate her style in a story of my own.
